A Wealth of Choices

Mindvalley Labs

Most of us don’t suffer from severe depression or uncontrollable Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Some of us may feel that we have Dependent Personality Disorder, but we really don’t. Why are we ticking off “diseases I don’t have”? Because all of the aforementioned conditions can feature a common symptom: the inability to make Decisions.

Let us, for a moment, consider how lucky we are that we have (basically) properly balanced brain chemistries, that nothing is misfiring or flooding our synapses with dopamine.  Let us also consider how lucky we are to live lives that allow us options, lives that offer such variety and luxury that we can have the chance to make choices; unlike so many who suffer in poverty.

Let us exult in our decision making, rather than seeing it as a pain. Let us be thankful that we have the option to make decisions. And let’s make them the best we can, for ourselves and for the world.

The ability to decide is a gift. Every opportunity we are given to choose is an opportunity to grow and to achieve.
